Outreach & mission
Anglicare has a strong presence in Roma and at St Paul’s. It commenced in Roma in 1997 with the TRACC programme for foster children. This programme has evolved to the current status and now encompasses a radius of about 200km out from Roma.
Anglicare also encompasses Aged Care Nursing, Mental Health, Family and Youth Support and Disability services. A special service is held each year to celebrate the work done by Anglicare.
Throughout the year, members of our church donate school supplies, hygiene products, clothing and cuddle toys as part of Operation Christmas Child. The items are packed into brightly wrapped shoeboxes, blessed and sent off around the middle of October to children in the South Pacific to share the Christmas spirit.
ABM’s philosophy is based on a belief in holistic mission – that God calls us to serve people in all aspects of their lives, from the spiritual to the practical. Their mission also includes providing health and education services, as well as assisting in economic development initiatives. The Roma Anglican Parish is blessed to be able to financially contribute to the mission of ABM.
